Snacks, lunches and drinks
We provide fruit, vegetables, and milk for snacks.
Please provide a healthy packed lunch for your child. It needs to be in a suitable container with your child’s name on it, with an ice pack. We are a healthy eating pre-school and expect a balanced packed lunch, with limited sugar, salt and saturated fats.
Please note: Meadow has a nut-free policy to protect against allergic reactions, please respect this when packing lunch boxes.
Water will be provided throughout the day - please do not bring drinks bottle.
If there is anything your child is allergic to, it is important that you notify us.
What to wear
Please dress your child in sensible clothes and shoes that will enable them to move about freely and explore both indoors and outdoors.
It is good for children to practice the skills of independence; so simple clothes that they can handle themselves when they go to the toilet and shoes they can learn to put on themselves are perfect.
Jewellery can be dangerous when children are active, please remove them before they arrive at Meadow.
What to bring
Please provide a bag (clearly named) with all your child's belongings. This is to brought in, and taken home every day.
Please provide one change of clothing in case your child gets wet or muddy during play - clearly labelled with your child’s name.
On rainy days please provide waterproofs and wellies - clearly labelled with your child’s name. If you do not provide these, children will wear one of Meadow’s sets. Please note: We cannot wash the sets provided by Meadow after every wear.
On sunny days please provide a sun hat and apply sun cream before you leave your child with us.
If your child is unable to attend a session due to illness or otherwise, please call 01634 814122 to notify their absence. If your child becomes ill whilst at Meadow, we will contact you immediately and ask you to collect your child. We ensure that there is always a trained first aider on site.
If your child develops a contagious illness, please follow your doctor’s advice about how long they should be absent from Meadow.
If you require our staff to administer regular or emergency medicine for an identified condition, this medication needs to be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Please speak to one of the first aiders for advice.
